Huntington Beach Pupil Services Association
The Huntington Beach Pupil Services Association (HBPSA) is proud to welcome Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) into our association as of April 1, 2026.
This milestone reflects a shared commitment to strengthening student support through collaboration across disciplines. SLPs bring essential expertise in communication, language, and access to learning—work that is foundational to student success. Their inclusion further enhances the collective strength and impact of HBPSA.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the many individuals whose leadership and dedication made this possible. We especially thank past presidents Claudia Gomez and Krista Wagnon for their foundational contributions, as well as long-serving executive board members Megan Clark (Negotiations Chair), Kylie Bernstein (Secretary), and Diana Miler (Treasurer) for their continued commitment and steady leadership.
We also recognize Rose Haunreiter and her colleagues, whose longstanding advocacy and persistence have been instrumental in championing the inclusion of SLPs within HBPSA over many years.
HBPSA is grateful to the District Educators Association and its president, Dr. Hume, for their professionalism, collaboration, and support throughout this unit modification process. We also extend our appreciation to HBUHSD administration for their support in making this transition possible.
This moment represents not just change, but progress—built on years of effort, partnership, and shared purpose. Together, we are stronger and better positioned to serve our students and school communities.
Edith has been a School Counselor in the HBUHSD for 18 years. We are so proud of all her amazing accomplishments and all the impact she's made on students' lives.
